Scorpio Space is a technology company aiming to solve one of the most difficult challenges facing the new age of Satellite communications – The user terminal located on the ground (antenna).

Government

State and federal organizations that are responsible for security, law & order, safety and disaster recovery all require small, dispersed, resilient and adaptive means of communications.

While satellite communication has been involved in the mix of communication solutions used by these organizations, it is frequently addressed as the means of last resort due to size, cost and inherent complexity. Scorpio Space’s antenna technology is designed to support a new generation of satcom terminals. These terminals will allow access to services from multiple orbits with potentially low-latency, higher data rates from smaller apertures, resilience and global reach.

IoT

The growing demand for connectivity to monitor and control assets, whether fixed or mobile, across the globe requires true global connectivity.

Satellite communication from multiple orbits (GEO, MEO, LEO) will provide the extra coverage needed to complement terrestrial networks. Scorpio is developing groundbreaking antenna technology to be used in IoT user terminals interoperable with multiple GEO and NGSO service platforms. Scorpio’ IoT antennas are small in size and designed for a fixed or mobile terminal. They are very efficient and provide a low-power, completely autonomous means to acquire and track relevant service satellites. We intend to integrate our antennas into dedicated user terminals for Transportation, Agriculture, Maritime, Oil & Gas Mining Apparatus, Smart Meters and other relevant IoT devices.

Aviation

Commercial aviation as well as Business aviation have been deploying and utilizing IFC – In-Flight Connectivity solutions for well over a decade.

Still, the holy grail of airlines and IFC service providers has always been an affordable, efficient, flat and reliable satcom antenna terminal that can support seamless, global broadband connectivity to the seat. More recently, the industry benchmark for IFC is also to support services from multiple orbits LEO/MEO/GEO. Scorpio is developing next-gen antennas to be used for business and commercial satellite based IFC. Our groundbreaking antenna technology supports multi-orbit broadband communication at significant lower size, weight and power.

Connected Car

Enabling 99.9% availability for connected and autonomous vehicles can become a reality.

To do so, the automotive industry cannot rely solely on terrestrial communication infrastructures (Cellular 4G/5G, Wireless or other) and will have to adapt also satellite based communications. To best integrate satellite communication capabilities into vehicles – a small, efficient and low-cost antenna is required. Scorpio is developing small, flat and integrated antennas for the automotive industry. We plan to work closely with Tier-1 and OEMs to make global satellite connectivity a reality for the automotive industry.
